Summary: Petmate Replacement Pump
Comment: The first pump I received was noisy, but when I called the store, they replaced it and paid shipping for the return. The replacement pump is as quiet as the original, which is to say you can't hear it. The pump seems to pump quite a bit more water than the original. I am very satisfied with the replacement pump.

Comment: I purchased this replacement pump at my husband's suggestion. I was reluctant as I felt it would not fit properly. The pump came in just 3 days and it was a perfect fit. It has a more forceful flow of water than the old one and my 2 cats just LOVE playing with the water as it flows out. PERFECT FIT AND FAST DELIVERY!

Summary: Pump just needed cleaned - Try it first!
Comment: I have had this fountain for over 4 years. I have periodically taken the unit apart when the flow wasn't adequate, but today that trick didn't work. I had never gone as far to remove the 3-pronged white spinning part before and after doing that, scraping it off with the tweezers I used to remove the part, water was bursting up like it was brand new. We have pretty hard water where I live, so that must be why there was so much build up. If that doesn't work, then maybe a new pump is in order. Mine has lasted over 4 years with periodic cleaning, so it has the potential to be a very reliable unit. I hope that helps!

Comment: This pump is the best ever! I found my bowl dry and the pump kaput, so I assumed I had damaged it. I began looking to buy a new one, and checked the PetMate website which said "PLEASE READ THE PUMP MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS BY CLICKING HERE. PLEASE FOLLOW THE PUMP CLEANING STEPS BEFORE CONTINUING." I followed the instructions and found that my impeller magnet was coated with minerals. I followed the instructions and it is now working perfectly!
